Member Training Courses - Available with your Membership Package!
When you sign up for our “Membership Packages”, you will be given login credentials. This will take you to your learning dashboard to access the training courses. Please note: this is a list of courses available, access to the training is through the “Dashboard” tab at the top of the website address bar. You must purchase a membership level to access the training and receive your login credentials.
Learning Options Available
- Lesson Style Learning. Self Directed, Learn at your own Pace. Certificates available for participant immediately following the completion of the course. User must use their own login for lesson style learning to get certificate immediately. If using company login, then the attendance sheet is completed and emailed to me, and I will do the training card and email back to you.
- Pre-recorded sessions for individuals or group learning, the courses are marked as pre-recorded, which gives video and audio stream of me going through the course. Participants will be able to download workbook and follow along. Attendance sheet is completed and emailed to me for completion of cards.
- Zoom Training– Book your date and courses completed live with me as the instructor. Participants will download workbook prior to meeting, Attendance sheet is completed and emailed to me for completion of the cards. Minimum number of participants (10) for zoom training.
- Localized Training– Prior to membership agreement will include training day for you to pick date and full day of training. Completed by myself the instructor at your location. You choose which courses to be completed that day. Workbooks emailed to client prior to training and company will print workbooks for participants.

Accessibility for Ontario Disabilities Act for Ontario Workplaces
This training is required for all persons who provide customer service to clients, directly in person or over the phone. You will learn what the legal requirements are for accommodating persons with disabilities requiring your services or goods. For all Ontario Workplaces who provide a good or service.

Accident Investigation
Joint Health and Safety Committees or Health and Safety Rep.
The Accident Investigation course is designed to help you understand how to conduct an accident investigation to find out the root or underlying causes of an accident and how to define corrective measures so that you can prevent the accident from happening again. This course is for Joint Health and Safety Committee Members or the Health and Safety Representative.

Aerial Lift Training - Competency (Written and Driven)
As detailed in the OHSA, employees who operate a scissor lift (aerial lift) platform shall be competent. Employees will complete the written portion of the course and the driven portion of the course will be completed in-house with the Supervisor. The Supervisor will use a schematic and checklist to evaluate the driven portion of this course.

Asbestos Safety Awareness Training
In this course we will discuss what is asbestos, the different types and what products could contain asbestos. Building materials such as paints, cement, roof shingles, brick etc may be asbestos containing. We will learn the types of building materials and products, asbestos may be present. We will review the regulations as it pertains to Type 1, Type 2 and Type 3 work. The hazards and required control measures to protect yourself and others from exposure to asbestos.

Arc Flash Safety Awareness Training
In this course will will discuss what is Arc flash and what can cause an Arc Flash. Types of injuries caused by an Arc fault and the resulting consequences. We identify the risks associated with Arc Flash hazards and remedial action to be taken including, proper PPE, minimum distances, hazard communication and working with a safety plan. Part of the plan includes Arc Flash system analysis, to determine voltage, incident energy, minimum distances, safe working distances to ensure the protection of all workers, who are working near or proximity to the area.

Back Safety
Overview
Back injuries strike more than one million people on the job every year. These
injuries result in lost time, lost wages and serious pain.
Our Goal: to provide participants with the knowledge and practical application
to prevent back injuries in the workplace.
We will discuss what causes back injuries, some of the early warning signs to watch out for. Proper Lifting techniques and how to utilize lifting devices to help eliminate undue stress on the body.

Chainsaw Safety
Overview
Participants will learn how to safely handle and maintain a chainsaw
Objectives
We will review the requirements under the Regulation for Construction Projects
(O.Reg 213/91) chainsaw training and protection. Discuss how to inspect the equipment and prepare the site for safe operation of the equipment. How to start, transport, handle a chainsaw during a cut. Review necessary techniques required to perform basic cutting and felling operations safely. Basics of saw operations, identifying safety hazards and ensuring all appropriate controls are in place. Maintenance of the chainsaw and how to inspect the equipment to ensure that no maintenance issues will pose a problem when operating the chainsaw.

Confined Space Training
Overview
The question that seems to come to mind for workers is:
“Is Working in a Confined Space Hazardous?”
The Answer is…
Yes, many workers are injured and killed each year while working in confined spaces. It is estimated that 60% of the fatalities are related to the “would be rescuer”, someone going in to help a victim.
A Confined Space can be more hazardous than regular workplaces for many
reasons. We will review the hazards and discuss the necessary controls that need to be in place. Monitoring, proper PPE, creating and filling out an entry permit will all be covered in this course.

CVOR Requirements
Commercial Vehicle Operator Registration
We will review the Commercial Vehicle Operator Registration requirements (CVOR) system and the carrier safety rating System (CSR), developed by the Ministry of Transportation to maintain its commitment to road safety. We will review the guidelines, CVOR records such as the company and driver abstract and how to understand the thresholds and limits given to drivers and organizations. Responsibilities and legislated requirements will be discussed along with going through an audit and required documentation that would be reviewed in an audit.

Fall Protection Safety Training
Fall Protection Working at Safely Working at Heights
Overview
a) How falls happen.
b.) What the regulations say about working at heights.
c.) How to identify fall from height hazards in your workplace or on the job site. d.) equipment, fall arrest vs travel restraint e.) hierarchy or controls f) demonstration of the equipment and inspecting the equipment
The workplace is not exempt from the laws of gravity. According to Statistics Canada, falls are one of the leading causes of workplace deaths and the second leading of workplace injuries across Canada.
The Good News – fall incidents are preventable with the proper training.

Health and Safety Representative
Overview
Participants will:
a.) Understand the organization and contents of, and definitions in the Occupational Health and Safety Act.
b.) Describe the general duties and responsibilities of the employer, supervisor and the worker.
c.) Understand the legal duties of the Health and Safety Rep.
d.) Describe workers rights including “the right to participate”, “the right to know” and the “right to refuse unsafe work.”
e.) Describe enforcement, offences and penalties for non-compliance with the Act and the Regulations.
f.) Understand the pertinent Health and Safety Laws and regulations affecting your workplace.

Driven Portion will be conducted by your Supervisor in house using your equipment. They will follow a schematic and a checklist to evaluate the driven portion and also the circle check requirement.

Ladder and Scaffold
Overview
Ladder Safety, participants will
- understand the different types of ladders, grade, significant for ladder selection for the type of work being performed and understand hazards associated with ladders
- demonstrate how to use a ladder safely and have knowledge on how to conduct an inspection of the equipment
- understand fall protection requirements
Scaffold Safety, Participants will
- understand the parts and components of a scaffold system and required set up by a competent person and be able to identify the hazards with working with scaffold equipment
- understand the construction regulations as it pertains to the equipment
- understand fall protection requirements
- demonstrate the necessary knowledge for successful completion.
