WHMIS 2018
A Supplier Label Contains Seven Separate Pieces of Information:
- Product Identifier (the name of the material);
- Supplier Identifier (the name of the supplier of the material);
- MSDS Statement;
- Hazard Symbol;
- Risk Phrases (brief description for safe use);
- Precautionary Measures (brief instructions for safe use);
- First Aid Measures (how to treat persons exposed to the material).
WHMIS 2015
- Product identifier
- Pictogram(s)
- Signal word – either “Danger” or “Warning”
- Hazard statement(s) – a brief, standardized phrase to describe the nature of the hazard
- Precautionary statement(s) – recommended measures to minimize adverse effects
- Initial supplier identifier – the name, address and telephone number of either the Canadian manufacturer or importer of the hazardous product who operates in Canada. The initial supplier identifier displayed on the label of a hazardous product must be identical to the one on the safety data sheet.
