Rescue Procedures

The confined space plan must include written procedures for safe onsite rescue that can be implemented immediately in case of an emergency.

An adequate number of people must be available to carry out the rescue procedures immediately.

They must be trained in
a) the onsite rescue procedures
b) first aid and cardio-pulmonary resuscitation (CPR)
c) how to use the rescue equipment necessary to carry out the rescue.

And remember….

Dialing 911 is not a sufficient rescue response. Having on-site rescue is what is required under the regulations,
