About Course

This is your driven portion of the the Aerial Lift Training. Once the written has been completed, you will work with your Supervisor to complete the driven portion of the evaluation.

The practical portion includes:

Completing your circle check using the checklist provided

Driving the equipment with your Supervisor evaluating you competency

You will drive, forward and in reverse, turning forward and reverse, and raising and lowering the platform on the Scissor Lift or Boom Lift. 

You will understand all your safety hazards including working surfaces, drop offs, uneven surfaces, floor covers, hazards above, electrical hazards and any other hazards specific to your workplace.

You will understand rated capacities and evenly distributing the load

You will understand the Operators Manual, company policies and any other safety controls necessary to work safely and keep others safe.

Course Content

Aerial Lift Driven
You will complete the circle check and drive the equipment following a route decided by your Supervisor. You will be tested driving forward and reverse, turning, raising and lowering the platform or bucket and smooth operation of the controls. New Operators will work with Supervisors with the Supervisor accompanying you on the platform or the bucket. Fall Protection is required to be worn at all times.
