What Will You Learn?

  • Understand the organization and contents of, and definitions in the Occupational Health and Safety Act.
  • Describe the general duties and responsibilities of the employer, Supervisor and the worker.
  • Understand the legal duties of the Health and Safety Rep.
  • Describe workers rights including “the right to participate”,
  • “the right to know” and the “right to refuse unsafe work.”
  • Describe enforcement, offences and penalties for non-
  • compliance with the Act and the Regulations.
  • Understand the pertinent Health and Safety Laws and
  • regulations affecting your workplace.
