  3. How to identify and assess the sources of energy requiring lock out tag out
  4. How to understand legislated responsibilities as defined in the OHSA and the Regulations. Also CSA Standards, guidelines and your companies policies and procedures.
  5. How to understand all required controls are in place to ensure the safety of all workers.
  6. How to complete a basic electrical lock out tag out process.
  7. How to complete more detailed lock out tag out process including all possible energy sources.
  8. How to isolate all energy sources and lock out and tag out
  9. How to control all stored energy sources.

Course Content

Introduction
The goal of this course is to give employees the necessary knowledge and skills to ensure the safety of themselves as well as others. This is self directed training where you will complete each lesson and then complete the quiz at the end. The module is set up exercises you will complete as you go along.

Lock Out Tag Out – Electrical
This topic will cover Electrical Terminology you will need to understand the basics, you will complete an exercise using the standard electrical lock out, tag out process. Remember this is just the basics it does not cover other energy sources, we will discuss other energy sources as we go along in this course.

Hazard Identification
After watching the video you were introduced to things that go wrong in a lock out tag out procedure. This is also called a hazard. A hazard is something that has a potential to harm someone, damage equipment or damage property.

Understanding the Legislation
In this lesson we will look at the section of the Occupational Health and Safety Act that list legal duties for the Employer, the Supervisor and the Employees. Review Pages 12 - 17 Key Points the employer provides, the supervisor ensures and the employee does. The Regulations tell you how to perform the work safely- the listed Regulations all deal with Lock Out Tag Out, Rules for working with Live Electrical Equipment and Arc Flash, 750 Volts or More ( only to be done Hydro One employees), Tools and Equipment Safety.

In this lesson we discuss and understand how to control the hazards.
